NAIROBI, KENYA — In a significant step toward the upcoming general elections, Everlyne, a dedicated grassroots mobilizer and aspiring Woman Representative for Nairobi County, today visited the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) Party headquarters to seek the party's endorsement for her candidacy.
Accompanied by a delegation of enthusiastic supporters, Everlyne presented her vision to the party leadership, formally requesting their blessings to carry the ODM ticket in the race for Nairobi Woman Representative. The party leadership warmly received her, acknowledging her unwavering loyalty and consistent sacrifices for the party since its inception in 2005.
During the consultative meeting, the leadership highlighted Everlyne's steadfast belief in the political ideology originally championed by the late Mzee Jaramogi Oginga Odinga. Drawing inspiration from his seminal book, Not Yet Uhuru, Everlyne articulated her conviction that true liberation is deeply tied to economic empowerment and the eradication of poverty. She noted that the struggle for independence remains incomplete as long as systemic inequalities persist among the wananchi.
"My commitment to the ODM party is not just institutional; it is deeply ideological. I seek to use the office of the Nairobi Woman Representative to practically apply Mzee Jaramogi's vision by bridging the widening poverty gaps and building a strong, resilient, and inclusive Kenyan economy," Everlyne stated.
She further pledged to champion policies that uplift women, youth, and vulnerable groups, ensuring that Nairobi's economic potential translates directly into tangible prosperity for its residents. The campaign team remains optimistic that the party's leadership will officially grant its blessings, setting the stage for a robust, transformative, and issue-based grassroots campaign across the county.
